I am delighted to say the whereabouts and death of the elusive Mary Ann Melrose nee Irvine has been found in Australia, she travelled aboard the "Shackamaxon" and arrived on 3rd September 1863. Sadly her stay here was to be short lived she spent the next 3 years with George Melrose and his young family at Parramatta and passed of general debility on 7th August 1866.
